In the early 1900s, as Salt Lake City started to grow, developers and city planners looked to the gentle slopes above the city as an excellent place for young families to build their homes. Fueled by the booming mining economy,
"The Avenues" flourished as one of Salt Lakes premier neighborhoods.
In the mid 1970s, The Greater Avenues District was formed placing the homes on the National Historic Register. Many of the homes in this area are protected to maintain their original integrity to ensure the historical character of this area.


From the Avenues you achieve some of the most spectacular views of the Salt Lake Valley.
